Planning Permission Approved for the Everest Lounge Project!

We are thrilled to announce that our latest project in Market Harborough, the Everest Lounge, has officially received planning approval from Harborough District Council! This marks a huge milestone in what has been an exciting and inspiring journey, and we can't wait to see this unique dining experience come to life.

The project was recently featured in the BBC News; the article highlights the ambitious plans for the space, noting how the design preserves the building’s historic charm while introducing a modern, international dining experience.

For those who haven't yet heard, the Everest Lounge will be moving into the historic former NatWest Bank on St. Mary's Road, which has been vacant since January 2023. Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with Pradip Karanjit, owner of the Everest Lounge, to breathe new life into this iconic building.

The aim? To create a truly immersive dining experience that merges the elegance of the old with a modern flair.

Earlier this summer, MaHa Magazine featured an in-depth interview with Pradip, the owner of Everest Lounge, alongside Lloyd and Laura Hearden from Lloyd Harden Design Group, to discuss the exciting renovation. The feature showcases an interview with Pradip, sharing his passion for bringing a unique Nepalese dining experience to Market Harborough. Lloyd and Laura also shed light on the architectural and design challenges of the project.

Reviving Local Heritage in the Heart of Harborough

The ground floor will transform into an open-plan seating area, featuring stunning circular booths, sleek bench seating, and a welcoming bar area. For those picking up takeaways, there will also be a dedicated, beautifully designed waiting area. But perhaps the most exciting feature on this floor is the private dining experience housed in the old bank vault, offering an intimate and unique setting.

Upstairs, guests will be treated to a glamorous cocktail bar—a sophisticated space where you can relax before dinner or enjoy drinks for the evening. We've gone the extra mile to ensure that every corner of this project reflects modern luxury while respecting the historical architecture of the building.

Our Architectural & Interior Design Vision

The interior design has been crafted to enhance the existing character of the former bank, with its grand Ionic stone columns, arched ceilings, and crescent windows. Bright, bold fabrics in turquoise and burnt orange will contrast beautifully with these original architectural features, creating a striking yet harmonious balance between tradition and modernity.

We’ve considered every detail. From carefully selected seating materials to the bold, artistic touches in the cocktail bar, we’ve designed every detail to elevate the Everest Lounge into a destination for international dining in the heart of Market Harborough.

Planning Approved – When can we see it?

With planning permission secured, Lloyd and the team are moving full steam ahead with the renovation and are working toward an exciting opening before Christmas this year! Stay tuned for updates as the construction progresses and we get closer to opening day.

We’re deeply proud of the work we've done in collaboration with Everest Lounge, and we're confident this will be a standout addition to the vibrant dining scene in Market Harborough.
